In collaboration with the Hong Kong Pei Hua Education Foundation, the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies (HKIBS) organised “The 12th Seminar for the Representatives of the Minority Nationalities Autonomous Prefectures in China” from 16 to 27 August. The two-week programme was conducted for a group of 40 representatives from 26 provinces, cities or counties of Anhui, Beijing, Chongqing, Gansu, Guangxi, Guangzhou, Guizhou, Hainan, Hebei, Heilongjiang, Henan, Hubei, Hunan, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Liaoning, Ningxia, Qinghai, Shandong, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Sichuan, Tibet, Tianjin, Xinjiang and Yunnan in China.
The training programme aims at sharing Hong Kong’s experience of economic development with the participants. Distinguished speakers from government departments, business and academic fields in Hong Kong gave lectures on the local economy, finance, law and politics, and education system. As part of the training programme, participants also visited the Civil Service Bureau, HKTDC SME Centre, Hong Kong Independent Commission Against Corruption, Legislative Council and The Hong Kong Council of Social Service to learn more about the functions and operations of these organisations.
