Lingnan students participate in the pre-production stage of “A Kitchen of Her Own” drama performance

12 Oct 2015

A group of Lingnan students from the Service-Learning course on “Family, Gender and Society” participated in the pre-production stage of the drama performance “A Kitchen of Her Own”.  Through interviewing women from all walks of life to learn about their cooking stories and related experiences, they contributed the reference materials to the development of the drama script and participated in the production work. These experiences enable them to meet and collaborate with different people and develop valuable skills of stage production.

Staged at the Chan Tak Tai Auditorium on 12 October, “A Kitchen of Her Own” drama performance is a collaboration project of the theatre group HER Story and The Association for the Advancement of Feminism, which is co-hosted by Lingnan’s Equal Opportunities Committee and Student Services Centre. The project is funded by the Arts Development Council and aims at prompting community education by offering free performances to the public and post-performance discussion on the issues of gender and social inequalities.
