International standing of Lingnan University's Faculty of Business recognised by extension of its AACSB Accreditation

The Faculty of Business of Lingnan University has extended its business accreditation by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business for another five years. The recognition reflects the Faculty’s concerted efforts in benchmarking itself with the highest international standards, and continuous commitment to professional and academic excellence.
 
Founded in 1916, AACSB is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master and doctoral degrees in business and accounting. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, and has been earned by less than five percent of the world's business programmes. Today, there are 761 business schools across 52 countries and territories that maintain AACSB Accreditation.
 
Lingnan University’s Faculty of Business obtained the AACSB Accreditation for the first time in 2011. The Accreditation was extended for another five years after a recent round of assessment exercise by AACSB International, which reassured the Faculty’s outstanding performance in teaching and learning, ongoing development, strategic management and innovations. In particular, the review panel of AACSB International acknowledged the Faculty’s well established strategic management process that is driven by its mission, well-developed faculty management policies and curriculum management process, and various features of its business programme that echo with its commitment to liberal arts education and whole person development.
 
The Faculty of Business of Lingnan University provides high quality business education distinguished by the best liberal arts tradition. Committed to the whole-person education, it put a strong emphasis on nurturing students’ practical ability and global vision by providing rich opportunities in service-learning, internship, and international exchange. The business programmes offered by the Faculty is well recognised by professional associations. Apart from the AACSB Accreditation, the Faculty had set up the Lingnan University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma to recognise students with outstanding academic achievement. The Faculty’s graduates are exempted from certain professional examination papers and granted memberships of some professional associations.
