Lingnan University signs agreement with University of Waterloo on undergraduate student exchange

Lingnan University signed an agreement on undergraduate student exchange with University of Waterloo in Canada yesterday (28 November). The agreement aims to facilitate cooperation of the two universities on exchange programmes to enrich international learning experience of their undergraduate students.
The agreement was signed when a delegation from the University of Waterloo led by its President and Vice-Chancellor Prof Feridun Hamdullahpur visited Lingnan University on 28 November. Other representatives from University of Waterloo included Prof Ian Rowlands, Associate Vice-President, International, Prof Douglas Peers, Dean, Faculty of Arts, and Prof James Rush, Dean, Faculty of Applied Health Sciences. Dr Michael Wong, Director of Office of Advancement and Ms Mika Tsoi of the University of Waterloo Hong Kong Foundation also joined the delegation.
The delegation was received by Prof Leonard K Cheng, President, Prof Shalendra Sharma, Associate Vice-President (Academic Quality Assurance and Internationalisation), Prof Sun Yifeng, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Prof Liu Liming, Dean of the Faculty of Business of Lingnan University.
Apart from signing the agreement, the two universities also explored other possible collaboration in future during the visit.
With a strong commitment to internationalisation, Lingnan University is actively developing strategic partnership with leading universities with the aim of enhancing collaboration in the areas of student exchange, teaching and learning, scholarship and community engagement. To date, the University has entered into agreements with over 200 partner institutions worldwide, covering Africa, Asia, Australasia, Europe and the Americas. Currently about 90% of our undergraduates are able to go on exchange for a term or attend overseas summer or winter programmes. Entering into a new cooperation agreement with the University of Waterloo is another important move of Lingnan University towards its commitment on internationalisation.
