Lingnan’s Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies introduces carers’ handbook and organises public forum on caregiving service

On 16 October, the Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) of Lingnan University has published a practical handbook for caregivers, which provides comprehensive information on the resources and services available to caregivers in Hong Kong, and caregiving skills, and describes caregivers’ experiences.

The “Public Forum on Services Information for Informal Carers” was also hosted by the APIAS that day. Policy officials and service stakeholders, representatives from the social welfare sector, and caregivers were invited to discuss ways of making carers’ services information more easily available. Nearly 200 people, including government officials, academics, directors and representatives from social welfare and educational institutions, and carer support organisations, elderly individuals, caregivers, and students attended on- and offline.

The electronic version of the handbook can be downloaded HERE for free access to up-to-date caregiver support services, courses, and information (Chinese only).
