Mission Statement:
To bridge the gap between Science and the liberal arts and to foster interdisciplinary collaboration. By integrating advanced scientific technology and liberal arts education, we aim to empower individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Vision Statement:
To create a world where technology enhances and amplifies the creativity and critical thinking skills of individuals. We envision a society where interdisciplinary and/or transdisciplinary collaboration between technology and liberal arts disciplines leads to innovative solutions to complex problems, and where individuals are equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and shape the rapidly changing landscape of the digital age. Our institute will be a leading center of research, education, and innovation in the integration of Science and liberal arts, with a focus on creating a more equitable and sustainable future for all.
Objectives
- To promote interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research in the field of Science, Arts, Humanities, Social and Management Sciences.
- To provide a platform for researchers and practitioners to investigate the impact of technology on society, culture, and the arts.
- To serve as a hub for interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary research, education, and public engagement.
- To raise the global profile of liberal arts and Science at Lingnan University and other academic/research institutions in Hong Kong and Greater China.
