Several dedicated Lingnan staff members and outstanding undergraduates across different disciplines were recognised for their achievements and contributions to the University.

 

These include Prof Leng Mingming, Dean of the Faculty of Business, who has received this year’s Dr and Mrs James Tak Wu Awards for Outstanding Service (Academic Staff Award) for his leadership and dedication to promoting the development of diverse business disciplines, such as insurance and risk management, e-business and supply chain management, and computing and decision sciences, since joining Lingnan University in 2005.

An award for administrative and general grade staff goes to Ms Wendy Lai Sau-wai, Director of Human Resources, in recognition of her longstanding provision of high-quality services that improve the University’s human resources, in particular for the Lingnan-60 Global Talent Recruitment, and create a positive and multicultural work environment.

Eddie Chan Kong-man

Thirdly, Eddie Chan Kong-man, a final-year top undergraduate student of Global Development and Sustainability, was given the Student Award for his strong commitment and remarkable contributions to social affairs and youth talent exchange between Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, as well the great business acumen he has shown in his flaxseed industry venture in Mainland China.

The Dr and Mrs James Tak Wu Awards for Outstanding Service, founded in 1998, recognise Lingnan staff members and students who have actively provided excellent and comprehensive service, and made a positive difference to the University or community. Each awardee will receive a cash award and a trophy.

 

Besides, Choi Sin-yu (History), Law Ka-kiu (Cultural Studies), and Camille Ng Chi-inn (Psychology), local first-year undergraduate degree students, were presented The Hong Kong Jockey Club Undergraduate Scholarships 2023/24 for their academic potential, character, leadership skills, and dedication to service. The scholarships cover their full tuition fees, academic expenses, and living allowances as well as overseas learning subsidies.
